Spiritual Awakening – New Moon In Cancer
A Spiritual Awakening can be glorious or messy – or both! The New Moon in Cancer (June 28, 2022 at 7:51 pm PDT) awakens your spirit through the portal of your cracked open heart.
OH THOSE CRACKS
Outer You Sun and Inner You Moon merge (conjunct) this month in Heart Of The World Cancer. And Black Moon Lilith, who also conjuncts the New Moon, adds the potent fullness of the Shadow Feminine. Her darkness embodies the defiant, intuitive and self aware, and figures heavily in our Spiritual Awakening.
Empowerment King Jupiter in I Boldly Go Forth Aries challenges (squares) this New Moon and Black Moon Lilith conjunction. We can be overwhelmed or sidetracked by the intensity of our emotions.
BIG DRAMA?
It’s a possibility! However, Earthly Love Venus offers a helpful activation (sextile) with Jupiter. This enhances the power of love to guide us through the inner turmoil. Plus, Warrior God Mars and Stern TaskMaster Saturn coordinate (sextile) to bring purposeful, useful action online. Stay present with the gritty aspects of your Spiritual Awakening and make choices that count.
And – Ascension or Addiction Neptune stations Retrograde in his home sign of No Boundaries Pisces. The day a planet transits (changes signs) or stations (changes direction) is particularly intense! Our dreams can lead us or deceive us. Track the truth for your Spiritual Awakening through the portal of your heart.

SPIRITUAL AWAKENING NEW MOON CEREMONY
I’m recommending you set time aside for yourself to explore the darkest depths of your emotional landscape.
- Create your altar – have representations of Fire, Earth, Air and Water plus Spirit. Examples: a candle, soil or salt, a feather, a bowl of water, and something personally spiritual for you. I love to use a Herkimer Diamond.
- For the New Moon I like to add a symbol for the Sun and one for the Moon. Add in something for Black Moon Lilith. I love the image I used for today’s Shamanic Weather.
- Have your journal on hand.
- Smudge yourself and invite your Spiritual Allies to create a sacred space around you.
- Place both hands on the Earth symbol or, if you can, on the soil below you. Open your connection to the Earth, feel your Root Chakra and your roots growing deeply down.
- Place both hands on your Heart Chakra. Just feel.
- Focus on your symbols for Sun, Moon and Black Moon Lilith. Imagine them mixing in your heart. Then, spend some time writing about what is happening there. What’s alive in your heart?
- Place both hands on your Heart Chakra again. Just feel. Let the feelings open through you and expand. Cry, scream, pant, let it out.
- Keep one hand on your heart, move the other to the top of your head. Invite your Crown Chakra to open up to your Higher Self. Slowly lift your fingers and roll them back, lifting your palm from your crown, as if you are taking the cap off your Crown Chakra.
- Feel that buzz? Let the light of truth flow into you, cleanse your heart, and continue through your Root to the Earth.
- Enjoy the sensation of healing light and Spiritual Awakening.
You can repeat this process over and over again, perhap focusing on one topic or issue at a time, or exploring new waves of awareness and feelings.
