SEEKING SOLID GROUND
The January 2, 2022 New Moon finds us seeking solid ground after two years of incredible intensity and change. We want to stop and catch our collective breath. And the strong stellium (grouping) of planets in “Earth Based Spirituality” Capricorn – Outer You Sun, Inner You Moon, Love Goddess Venus, and Dark Lord of Transformation Pluto – inform our overall energy as we enter the new year.
A QUIET CELEBRATION
So many of us toned down the holiday get-togethers, gift giving, and overall revelry. On New Year’s Eve many of us opted to stay home. Yes, the uptick in Covid cases factors in, but another Shamanic Weather component influenced us as well.
We are cocooning, resting, “Earthing,” and reconnecting to our roots by being still.
THAT’S SEEKING SOLID GROUND
On New Year’s Day, the Rebel Genius Uranus in “Comfort Counts” Taurus trined (balanced with) the Sun. Ideas for breaking free and making changes arise, but for most of us all that Earth energy keeps us yin, introspective. It really hasn’t, for the most part, felt like the time to take action.
SHAMANIC PRACTICE
Your New Moon in Capricorn Ceremony initiates not just the next 28 day cycle, but a new year, the year of Love and Relationships. So, select a candle, and gather symbols of what you love and how you would like to renew that love from your new solid ground such as:.
- Pictures of loved ones, and pets!
- Tools of your “trade”
- Books that touch your soul
- Seeds for new growth
- Crystals, feathers, and other sacred items
Arrange these plus any of your preferred altar items (mine represent the elements) together. I suggest you play music that opens your heart.
Smudge yourself, light your candle, and invite your Spiritual Allies to surround you in sacred space. One at a time, focus on each item you selected. How does it relate to who you are now? How will it fit in your life going forward? You may wish to have a journal to make notes. Scoop some of the love each item embodies and pour it into your heart. All of these external symbols are a reflection of your love and yourself! Reclaim them and renew your solid ground.
