Shamanic Weather – Break Free – May 2021
Your Wild Child Within wants to break free, get naughty, and bend the rules this month. Fierce independence and sudden willingness to take risks you normally wouldn’t consider could make you wonder if you are possessed. No, the opposite is true! You are feeling the opposite ends of the spectrum calling you to think, feel, and act impulsively and radically different from usual.
YEAH, I WANT TO BREAK FREE BAD – WHAT’S HAPPENING?
When a planet’s orbit around the sun visually swings beyond 23 degrees north or south of our equator, it’s considered free of bounds. And, in May, all four personal planets break free and do just that. They travel outside the lines of our solar system’s circular highway called the ecliptic.
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
The planets closest to the This Is You Sun – Mercury, Venus, Mars and for these purposes, the Moon – are called the personal planets. Changes with any of them are more deeply felt because of their closeness to us. All of them will be out of bounds for part of May, some nearly the whole month.

MERCURY – MIND
I’ve Got Something To Tell You Mercury just entered his sign of rulership, Let Me Ask You A Question Gemini (he also rules Let’s Clean That Up Virgo). Mercury is all about what’s going on in our minds. So the usual increase in brain amperage is exponentially boosted by the out of bounds condition. Our minds are on fire!
VENUS – HEART
The Lady Of Love Venus is also in her sign of rulership, I Wanna Feel Good Taurus, at least she is until May 8. In Taurus she’s a connoisseur of sensuality and with some added Neptunian influence can be overindulgent in soooo many ways. When she switches to Gemini, she responds to the more frantic pace of our thoughts with rapidly changing feelings that expand and contract like a wildly beating heart. Not a dull month for break free love…
MARS – ACTIONS
Warrior God Mars always wants to take action. But while in Let’s Hug Cancer, he feels both passionate and moody. So our actions can feel mired in mud, frustration levels easily reached. We’ll want to practice some solid grounding and review our mission goals before taking brash action.
MOON – SOUL
Ah, the planet of our Inner Landscape (ok, Moon, you know what I mean) reflects our experience of reality. So, when the Moon wanders so far from the beaten path, we get a little (or a lot!) weird. You want to break free of self-imposed expectations and limitations. This is good news for me, as I am weird, and the more, the merrier!
WOW, THAT’S SO MUCH
When we break free a considerable amount of tension releases. Enjoy the sense of new energy and fresh prospects! Scintillating insights and perceptions sparkle through your mind and heart. We may be a bit giddy, and that could have a price later, but when the break free spirit is going to do what it’s going to do.
