Ancient Ways Winter Solstice

As the Wheel of the Year turns again, your bones remember the ancient ways evoked by the Capricorn Solstice, the beginning of Winter here in the Northern hemisphere, on December 21, 2023 at 7:26 PM Pacific Time.

Some instinctual part of your soul remembers the sacred nature of this once-a-year moment that marks the day of the longest shadows and the most hours of darkness at night.

And with this annual death and rebirth of the Sun we gather and disseminate the portents for the next three months.

~ POWERFUL MESSAGES

Messenger Mercury conjuncts (aligns with) Outer You Sun in I Know How To Get Things Done Capricorn (exact on 12/22). This is called Cazimi, an alchemical moment where the Sun deeply activates Mercury’s messages. Mercury is at the same time enjoying his pivotal importance in positive connections with Stern TaskMaster Saturn AND Empowerment King Jupiter, so you are in a position to receive useful downloads from the Universe.

Tap into these gifts by considering what questions are important to you, and keep them in mind over the next few days, especially if you are celebrating ancient ways in my Winter Solstice Sensitive Souls Zoom Ceremony. Watch for signs and answers. They’ll come!

Since Mercury is in Retrograde (appearing to travel backward), be sure to go over anything you receive more than once for accuracy and possible implications should you take action.

~ CONFUSING LOVE

Love Goddess Venus opposes (sits across the sky from) Rebel Genius Uranus. She can’t decide if she’s in love, or just lust. She’s in Shadow Heart Scorpio, so there are layers beneath layers to her aching heart, while Uranus continues to laboriously retrograde through I Think We Should Get Comfy Taurus

Emo Alert: any alliances and romances begun at this time may be plagued with off the wall confusion. Cool your jets, if you can, for a bit.

~ Ancient Ways

You feel the need to purge the old and make room for the new. In shamanic cultures you would have a ceremonial fire and burn items to symbolize release and the coming new growth. In modern times, we might clean out closets, excavate packed garages or attics, edit contacts, or shred old files.

All the while, we hold gratitude for what has been and how we have changed. The ancient ways serve in their new form. Spending quiet yin time in contemplation, self reflection and journaling is a healthy way to digest the accumulated experiences of the year and prepare for the next.

Then celebrate all the good things you’ve remembered with others!

Especially, invite fresh, helpful changes in your life and allow this all to unfold with grace.

May you enjoy a meaningful Winter Solstice!
