Grumbling Thunder At The Dining Room Table

Grumbling thunder erupts into booming cracks as the Patriarchal King Saturn squares off with the Dreamy King of the Seas Neptune in the first of three high energy confrontations beginning now through 2016.
Saturn wants to build structure, set limits, instruct and correct. He likes hierarchy. He chews and reviews the past. He’s the authoritative father sitting at the end of the dining room table ready to carve the turkey. He has a huge-screen tv and wants to watch the football game.
Neptune is the well-pierced, multi-colored hair crazy uncle who flew in from the Left Coast on the red-eye. He tells wild stories of seeing someone hanging on to the wing of the plane during the flight, much to the delight of his nieces and nephews. He undermines his brother Saturn at every opportunity.
You can see how this is going to go… the grumbling thunder is just the beginning.
To add fuel to the family fire Cousin Chiron, the Wounded Healer Dreaming, shows up last minute. Oops, we forgot there was a possibility he’d come! Quick, set another place at the table before he feels slighted. He never forgets ANYTHING.
What we have is a perfect storm of escalating conflict in human nature. It’s been brewing up since the beginning of the year, and peaks three times through 2016.

Comb out the tangled thoughts with pen and paper. Dreams, worries, fears and desires. He said/She said. Long-time complaints and troubling what-ifs. Sibling rivalry and coulda-woulda-shouldas. Get them all out on paper. Then write a perfect story, the way you’d like things to be right now. End with gratitude for the experiences, for life itself, and for the help from your spiritual allies that you are now invoking. Now burn that paper up!

Bear demonstrates exquisite timing and wise action. Go within and let Bear guide you through any volatile or difficult situations that can arise today. Sometimes the best thing to do looks like nothing (winter), and other times you have to get out and move (spring). Watch whatever goes on around you and make deliberate choices about how you authentically want to participate. Always remember the power of silence!

This is the ultimate goal of the Saturn Neptune Square – change in the direction of creativity and growth that is meaningful.

Chiron stations direct, so the focus on healing begins to shift from old pain to current interactions.
Although all of this sounds ominous, difficulty and stress do not have to be the overall experience. Prepared, we can put extra attention on the lighter side, the little miracles that bring big joy. Hug a baby, feed a bird, let the fellow commuter merge in front of you. Gather up the little sparkles of sweetness that can occur daily and sprinkle them all over yourself.
