Around the fire we drum in connection, share stories (and s’mores!), explore the rituals of Beltane, and create a few of our own.
The evening begins with your entry into the magical Hale Ohana courtyard. Come to the fires, be smudged with the Palo Santo. Enjoy the beautiful crystals (some are available for sale). Bring your Drum, Didgeridoo, or Rattle, or borrow one of our hand drums or rattles. Meet old friends and make new ones as you find your seat in the Circle (bring a chair to be sure you have one), and start playing. If we are lucky, John our Didge Shaman will be there with his Didgeridoos and Lora Wisdom Tree with her Gong and/or her Mother Drum!
The group energy builds as each participant arrives and takes a seat. We drum up the energy, then call in Sacred Medicine Space.
In talking circle we reveal to each other whatever needs to be shown, receiving acknowledgement for our joys and wins and support for the more difficult times. We toss into the fire anything we are ready to release.
Then we experience the topic for the evening. The rituals of Beltane have changed since ancient times. Originally it marked the beginning of the summer season, when the cattle were released to pasture, the power of the sun was waxing, and thus the fertility of all things in full strength. There were fairies to appease, magics to protect oneself from, and the richness of life ready to burst all around.
In honor of these traditions we’ll create our own ritual planting the seeds of our dreams and drumming our intentions into them. After the ceremony, we’ll enjoy the Gratitude Jam and make delicious S’mores!
