Rough relationship with Neptune:

– You struggled with addiction.

– Lack of motivation and distractions stop you from enjoying life.

– The truth is a relative term for you.

WHAT IF I HAVE SOME OF BOTH?

Then that’s a pretty normal relationship. Like Neptune, you can slide up and down the spectrum. I believe the more difficult times are when we are in the rough, shadow aspects of the Neptune archetype.
